Sailing Courses Based on the ASA Standard |
| Basic
Keelboat (2 days)
Prerequisites: A desire to learn to sail
|
This
course provides the fundamental sailing knowledge and skills necessary
for safe and confident sailing on boats up to 26 feet in moderate
winds and seas.

| Basic
Coastal Cruising (2 days)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of ASA Basic Keelboat Sailing Course.

This
course provides the advanced sailing knowledge and skills
for safe and confident sailing and overnighting on boats up to 30 feet
in coastal areas.
|
|
Bareboat Chartering (2 days)
Prerequisites: Successful Completion of ASA Basic Coastal Cruising Course.
|
This
course provides the additional skills and knowledge for safe and
confident cruising on boats up to 50 feet in length for extended
periods in coastal areas. This is the certification most charter
companies ask for.

| Combined
Intermediate (3 days)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of ASA Basic Keelboat Sailing Course.
|
This
course combines the Basic Coastal Cruising and Bareboat Chartering
programs in a three day and two night on-the-water course that covers
the same material and leads to the same certifications as the two
individual courses.

Navigation (1 day)
Prerequisites: None
|
This course provides
the coastal cruising navigation knowledge and skills necessary for sailing
in areas where navigation is more challenging due to currents, tides and
weather conditions. Navigation at night is also covered.
