Cedar Creek Sailing Academy offers experienced ASA Certified Instructors that can take you from A to Z in sailing - from the very first ASA course, Basic Keelboat, through Bareboat Cruising and on to Advanced Coastal Cruising and all the courses in between like Coastal Cruising and Coastal Navigation. We plan to soon offer Celestial Navigation and Passage Making - the two most advanced off-shore ASA courses. Instructors Don Candy and Ed Mapes together have over eighty years sailing experience. Both are certified ASA instructors and Ed holds a USCG 100 ton Master Mariner rating with over 20,000 offshore miles. Don teaches the basic courses at Cedar Creek Lake and advanced courses in the British Virgin Islands. Ed teaches advanced and offshore courses on trips from Annapolis, where his boat is berthed, to Bermuda and back.
